The implementation of a ratio utility billing system (RUBS) or submetering is allowed as long as the amount of the utility bills are not higher than the actual amount charged by the utility provider company.
Billing Service Providers are required to apply and be approved for licenses from a regulatory agency prior to starting the servicing of the client’s billing accounts. This requirement applies to several different areas of the USA. The license has to remain current and valid while doing business in these regions. Enacted in 2003, Washington’s Municipal Water Law requires all municipal water suppliers (public and private water utilities serving at least 15 residential connections) to have meters on all of their service connections by January 2017.
If you should decide submetering is right for your properties we will send out one of our highly trained technicians to do a complete property analysis on the property in question. During the analysis we will determine the need and goal of the proposed submetering system. We will also determine which submetering products will work best for the property.
Once the property analysis has been complete we will go to work and design a submetering system that will meet the needs of your property. Before installing the new submetering system we will send notices to all residents informing them of the upcoming installation. This will help make the transition process a lot smoother.
Once your new submetering system has been installed our technicians will work with your staff to upload all resident information into our state of the art billing system.
Our state of the art billing system is designed to do all the hard work for you. Every month meter readings will be sent to the Multifamily Utility headquarters via wireless transmitters and receivers.
As soon as meter information is received our state of the art billing system will process it and create individual bills for all residents of the property.
We accept all payments on your behalf and offer residents multiple payment options for their convenience. Once all payments have been received we will issue a reimbursement check to the owner, manager, association manager or other persons in charge of receiving payments.
